There was a time when followers of Christ and the Church took care of those in need. There has been a falling away of this wonderful practice and with the times of financial crisis, home foreclosures, high unemployment, high crime, high cost of living, and all to which seems to be pointing to the End of Days as spoken in Revelations, it is more imperative that we reach out to those in need.

Jesus said in
Matthew 25:31-46, If we do it to one of these, we do it to Him. He also stated that if we do not do it (or ignore these people in need) then we don’t do it for Him. Jesus also asked Saul of Tarsus in Acts 9:4, “Why do you persecute Me?” Saul did not personally persecute Jesus but rather the followers of Jesus.

It is evidently clear from the words of Christ that what we do to others is directly being done to Him. If we show love and kindness to others, we do it to Him. If we help someone change a tire, we help Jesus. If we yell in anger at someone, we yell at Jesus. If we ignore those who are in need, we ignore Jesus.

Hi, my name is
Rev. Elizabeth Smith and along with my team we strive to minister and to help those in need. Set Captives Free Ministries is both a prison ministry and a homeless ministry. Along with several members of Relevate Church, we minister to prisoners within the Georgia State Prison System. Also, by working with Bishop Clifton Dawkins of True Worship Christian Fellowship Church in Atlanta, and the leaders of Revelations Revealed Ministries, we are able to feed in upwards of 250 homeless and people of need upon each visit to the down town area.

Together, we know and understand that we hold a multipart connection with our Lord. First, through our actions Christ is seen in us. Second, our actions to others are our actions directly to Christ.

Thank you for your interest in our site and in our desires to be what Christians should be... Christ like. If you would like to get involved, feel free to contact us on any interest you have. If you do not have a desire to go into the prison but would like to minister to inmates, we also have a writing ministry.

God Bless
