MACON TRANSITIONAL CENTER - July 27 2013

Due to an attack of vertigo, I was not able to go to Macon TC; however, my amazing team Wayne and Julia Smith went to minister. There were 8 men in the service. Several of our "regulars" have gone home, but we had 3 new residents in the service.

Wayne ministered on "Abiding in the Vine; What does it mean?" Using John 15:1-8 as the foundation to the message, Wayne joined the parables of "Swept Clean and Empty" (Matt 12:40-45), "The Sower" (Matt 13:22-23), and "Lazarus and the Rich Man" (Luke 16:19-31) to show what "abiding" means.

Concentrating first on the production of fruit, which the lack of would force God to prune one away, they saw that the production of fruit is the witnessing of Christ, and numbers are associated with this production of fruit in Matt 13:23. Then looking at the reference to Jonah and Nineveh (Matt 12:40-41) and the "rich man" who would not share the knowledge which he had (Luke 16:21), they looked at how the lack of the teaching of Christ can cause one to fall back into sin and face the judgment of hell; these, being parallel with the branches which are pruned away.

They then focused on the abiding. In the abiding, we see that the branches are not pruned but rather fall off and die. They compared this to the parable of "The Sower" in which those who seek after the cares and riches of this world, the seed is choked out (Matt 13:22) and if we don't seek after Christ with all we have, like the queen of Sheba (Matt 12:22), we are left empty and the spirit of sin will come back to us with seven more worse than himself (Matt 12:44-45).

They concluded that to stay in the right path, we must constantly seek after Christ and teach other of Him, otherwise we will either fall away or be pruned off.

They ended the service with prayer requests and group prayer. All of the men in the service were born again but they desire a closer walk with the Lord!
