On Saturday night (Aug 22, 2015), the large room at West Central RANG with clapping, crying, singing and praying as 49 of God’s daughters worshipped Him with Set Captives Free Ministries. At least 8 of the women came to our service for the first time and were welcomed.

Pastor Kevin Humphery taught from Matthew 15:21-28 and called the lesson, “Holy Ground.” He reminded us that this story of redemption did NOT take place in a “church.” WE are the “holy ground” where GOD plants seeds of life. WE choose to nurture and water the seed by seeking His guidance OR we choose to ignore it by chasing anything EXCEPT God, and allow the seed to DIE.

The woman in the story was a Canaanite with a demon-possessed daughter who had heard of the healing miracles performed by Jesus. She followed Jesus with the BELIEF that HE could change her daughter’s life and the INTENTION of asking until God granted the desire of her heart.

The woman followed Jesus: calling to Him from the fringes of the crowd, but He SAID NOTHING. Since she was not Jewish and was being loud and disruptive, the disciples asked Jesus to send her away. The woman ignored everything and pushed closer to fall at the Savior’s feet and continued to ask for GOD’S HELP. Then Jesus tested her resolve by saying that his ministry was like bread for the lost children of Israel – not the Canaanites sniffing around the table like dogs. She was not DISTRACTED by the insult but pointed out that dogs get the CRUMBS that fall on the floor. Just like crumbs of bread contain all the same ingredients as the whole loaf, little bits of SALVATION came down to ALL people through Israel. She knew a TINY bit of GOD was enough to change her family’s life forever.

Jesus first praised her faith THEN told her that her request was granted. The healing was complete and instantaneous.

Are you the daughter – possessed with the demons of addictions, pride, lust, or dishonesty? Who knelt at Jesus’ feet in prayer crying “Lord, help her/him” for you? Will you ACCEPT the forgiveness and new life offered to you?
Are you the adult – spiritually or physically – whose heart is broken for a loved one possessed by desires that are destroying them? Who are you asking for help? Flood heaven with prayers asking God to act for that person’s greatest good; EVEN if that “good” is going to jail or going through the loss of a marriage or job so they have time to listen to GOD and evaluate their circumstances.

Will you CHOOSE to let God’s seed grow within you or CRUSH it out like a cigarette? How many more bad decisions and disappointments can you weather before your chances are all gone? Jesus WAITS for you to accept HIM as your RESCUE - to lead you to a life of peace in spite of any circumstance.

When Pastor Kevin offered to pray with anyone who had not accepted Jesus as Savior, 8 women came forward supported by the other ladies. Then the rest of the group asked God to help us with current decisions and the protection of family and friends outside the prison. Amen and Amen!
